two discs of sponge cake sandwiching a thick, buttercream fillingwhoopie pies were originally called hucklebucks. these cakes were put in Amish farmers' lunch boxes, who supposedly cried “whoopee” when they found them at lunchtime. these bad boys come in classic chocolate with cream cheese frosting, red velevt with cream cheese frosting and vanilla with chocolate or vanilla buttercream frosting...WHOOPIE!
